About Trees

Trees are beneficial!
A tree is the largest living organism on earth. It provides habitat for many life forms and keeps our air clean. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide. One large tree can provide a day's supply of oxygen for four people.
Trees save you money!
A tree can keep your house considerably cooler in the summer, lessening the need to use an air conditioner. It shades your lawn, lessening the need to water your grass and thereby reducing your water bill. Shade over your driveway will preserve the concrete and the paint on your car. (Unfortunately, a tree over your driveway will also give a bird a perch so it can leave its mark on that same car!)
Trees are beautiful!
An ever-changing centerpiece that brings new sights and smells with each season, a tree is a wonderful asset to the landscape of your yard.
Trees increase property value!
A beautiful mature tree can increase the value of your home up to 20%. Investment in landscaping returns 100% or more.* * Arbor Day Foundation
Prepare your trees for spring storms
A tree's crown acts like a sail and can catch the wind and bring the whole tree down. What a disaster! Pruning thins the crown, giving air passage. In a similar way, a tree catches wet heavy snow and breaks major branches, often leading to the demise of the entire tree. The same pruning technique is used to thin the crown to lessen it's ability to catch snow.
Water your trees in winter
Yes, really. All winter long your trees are working on buds that will flower in the spring. Trees depend on snow for their water intake, and without a very snowy winter, they will appreciate a good drink of water.
